Business Listing Subscription Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 28th July 2026

1. About these terms

These terms apply to business listing subscriptions provided through Cattlebarn Business Market.

By starting a free trial or purchasing a subscription, you confirm that:

  • you have read and accepted these terms;

  • you are authorised to act on behalf of the business or organisation being listed; and

  • the subscription is being purchased for business purposes.

2. About Cattlebarn Business Market

Cattlebarn Business Marketplace is an online directory designed to help people discover businesses, products and services operating in or serving East Anglia.

Cattlebarn Business Marketplace is operated by:

Legal business name: Katie Longmate trading as
Trading name: Cattlebarn Business Market
Email address: info@cattlebarnmarket.co.uk

3. Who can apply for a listing?

Business listings are available to legitimate businesses, sole traders, organisations and service providers operating in or serving with Fenland and the wider East Anglia area.

We reserve the right to refuse a listing if we reasonably believe that the business or its content is:

  • unlawful, fraudulent or misleading;

  • offensive, discriminatory or inappropriate;

  • unrelated to the purpose of the marketplace;

  • likely to cause harm to users or the reputation of the marketplace; or

  • offering products or services that we do not permit.

Submitting a listing or starting a subscription does not guarantee that the listing will be approved.

4. Multi-level marketing businesses

Cattlebarn Business Market does not currently accept listings or advertising from multi-level marketing (MLM), network marketing or pyramid-style businesses.

This includes individuals acting as independent distributors, representatives, consultants or recruiters for an MLM company, regardless of whether the listing promotes products, services, business opportunities or recruitment.

We reserve the right to reject or remove any listing that we reasonably believe falls within this category. If a listing is removed for breaching this restriction, any refund will be considered in accordance with these terms and applicable law.

5. The 90-day free trial

Eligible businesses will receive a 90-day free trial when starting a business listing subscription.

Payment details may be required when the subscription is set up, but no subscription fee will be charged during the 90-day trial.

The free trial forms part of an ongoing subscription. Unless the subscription is cancelled before the trial ends, it will automatically convert into a paid annual subscription.

The customer will not be asked to provide separate confirmation before the first annual payment is taken.

Only one free trial is available per business. Creating multiple accounts or listings to obtain additional trials is not permitted.

We may amend, withdraw or restrict the free-trial offer for new customers at any time. This will not reduce a free trial that has already started, unless the customer has breached these terms.

6. Introductory annual price

The standard subscription price is £52 for 12 months, paid upfront.

Where the first paid billing period begins on or before 31 March 2027, the customer will be charged the introductory price of £40 for the first 12-month paid period.

This represents a saving of £12, or approximately 23%, against the standard annual price.

The introductory price applies to the first paid year only. It does not apply to future renewals.

Starting a free trial before 31 March 2027 does not guarantee the introductory price if the first payment becomes due after that date.

Any applicable taxes or additional charges will be shown before the subscription is confirmed.

7. Automatic conversion after the trial

At the end of the 90-day free trial, the subscription will automatically convert into a paid annual subscription unless it has been cancelled before the trial expiry date.

The applicable annual fee will be taken automatically using the payment method supplied when the subscription was started.

We will automatically sends a reminder email three days before the free trial ends. This reminder explains that the trial is ending and that the annual subscription payment will be taken unless the subscription is cancelled.

Customers are responsible for providing an accurate email address, checking their emails and cancelling before the trial ends if they do not wish to continue.

8. Annual automatic renewal

Following the first paid year, the subscription will automatically renew for further periods of 12 months unless it is cancelled before the next renewal date.

Renewals will be charged at the standard annual price of £52 unless a different price has been communicated before renewal.

Where applicable, we will send a renewal reminder confirming:

  • the renewal date;

  • the amount to be charged; and

  • how to cancel the subscription.

If we change the standard subscription price, we will provide reasonable notice before the new price is charged.

9. Cancelling during the free trial

The subscription can be cancelled during the 90-day free trial through your website account management.

To avoid being charged, the subscription must be cancelled before the free trial expires.

When a subscription is cancelled during the trial:

  • no annual subscription fee will be taken;

  • the listing will remain active for the remainder of the trial;

  • the customer can continue using the plan benefits until the trial ends; and

  • the listing may be hidden or removed after the trial expiry date.

Cancellation does not immediately end access to the remaining free-trial period.

10. Cancelling a paid subscription

A paid subscription can be cancelled at any time through your website account management.

Cancelling stops the subscription from renewing at the next renewal date. The listing will normally remain active until the end of the 12-month period already paid for.

Annual subscription payments are generally non-refundable after the paid subscription period has begun, except:

  • where a refund is required by law;

  • where we have failed to provide the service described;

  • where we agree otherwise at our discretion; or

  • where any applicable cancellation rights entitle the customer to a refund.

Cancelling a subscription does not automatically provide a refund for any unused portion of the paid year.

To avoid being charged, the customer must cancel before the free trial ends. We will automatically send a reminder email three days before the trial expiry date. However, customers remain responsible for cancelling the subscription in time if they do not wish to continue with the paid plan.

11. Failed payments

If the initial or renewal payment fails, we will allow a seven-day grace period.

We will attempt to notify the customer using the contact details associated with the subscription. The customer is responsible for keeping their payment and contact information current.

If payment is not successfully collected within the grace period, we may suspend, hide or remove the listing.

Restoring a listing following a failed payment may require the outstanding fee to be paid and the subscription to be reactivated.

12. Information supplied by businesses

The customer is responsible for ensuring that all information supplied for the listing is accurate, current and not misleading.

This includes:

  • the business name and description;

  • contact information;

  • prices and offers;

  • opening hours;

  • qualifications and professional memberships;

  • licences and insurance;

  • service areas;

  • website and social media links; and

  • photographs, logos and other content.

Customers are responsible for keeping their business listing accurate and up to date. Any material changes to business details, contact information, opening hours, services or other listing content must be updated promptly through the customer’s account management area.

Customers may manage and edit their listing through their account management area during an active trial or paid subscription. All updates remain subject to these terms, and we reserve the right to review, amend, reject or remove content that is inaccurate, misleading, unsuitable or in breach of our listing requirements.

13. Rights to listing content

By submitting text, photographs, logos or other materials, the customer confirms that they own the content or have permission to use it.

The customer confirms that the content does not infringe another person’s copyright, trademark, privacy or other legal rights.

The customer grants Cattlebarn Business Market permission to reproduce, format, resize and publish the supplied content for the purposes of:

  • displaying and promoting the listing;

  • operating the marketplace; and

  • promoting the marketplace and its listed businesses.

Ownership of the original content remains with the customer.

14. Listing publication and editing

Listings are published automatically and do not require approval before appearing on the directory. They will usually become visible within 15 minutes of submission, although publication times may occasionally vary due to technical or processing delays.

Customers can manage and edit their own listings through their account management area. Customers remain responsible for ensuring that their listing is accurate, current and complies with these terms.

We reserve the right to review, suspend or remove any listing that breaches these terms, our listing rules or applicable law. This includes content that is misleading, unlawful, inappropriate, prohibited or infringes another party’s rights.

We do not guarantee that a listing will appear in a particular category or achieve a particular position within the directory or search-engine results such as Google.

15. No guarantee of results

A business listing provides promotional exposure through Cattlebarn Business Market.

We do not guarantee any particular number of:

  • listing views;

  • website visits;

  • telephone calls;

  • enquiries;

  • leads;

  • customers;

  • bookings;

  • sales; or

  • search-engine rankings.

The 90-day trial gives customers an opportunity to assess the service before the first annual payment. Results achieved during the trial do not guarantee future performance.

16. Our relationship with listed businesses

Cattlebarn Business Market provides an advertising and directory service.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, we do not independently verify, recommend or endorse every business listed on the directory.

The presence of a business listing does not constitute a guarantee of its products, services, qualifications, availability or conduct.

Any enquiry, booking, contract, purchase or dispute arising between a listed business and a directory user is between those parties.

Each listed business remains responsible for:

  • its products and services;

  • its prices and payment terms;

  • customer service;

  • licences, qualifications and insurance;

  • compliance with applicable laws and regulations; and

  • resolving complaints or disputes with its customers.

17. Complaints about a listed business

We may investigate serious or credible complaints about a listed business.

Where appropriate, we may contact the business and provide an opportunity to respond or correct the issue.

We are not required to mediate disputes between businesses and their customers, but we may suspend or remove a listing where we reasonably believe this is necessary to protect users or the directory.

18. Suspension or removal

We may suspend, reject or remove a listing if:

  • payment has not been received when due;

  • the customer breaches these terms;

  • the supplied information is false or materially misleading;

  • we receive a serious or credible complaint;

  • the business appears to be acting unlawfully;

  • the listing infringes another party’s rights;

  • the business no longer operates or serves the stated area;

  • the listing presents a risk to customers; or

  • continued publication could reasonably damage the marketplace.

Where reasonably possible, we will contact the customer and provide an opportunity to correct the issue.

A refund will not normally be provided where a listing is removed because the customer has breached these terms or supplied unlawful, infringing or misleading content.

19. Directory availability

We will take reasonable steps to keep the directory available and listings accessible.

However, uninterrupted access cannot be guaranteed. Temporary disruption may occur because of:

  • maintenance or updates;

  • hosting or platform problems;

  • security issues;

  • internet or technical failures; or

  • circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Temporary downtime does not automatically entitle a customer to a refund. Where a significant and prolonged interruption is caused by us, we may offer an extension, credit or other reasonable remedy.

20. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.

To the extent permitted by law, Cattlebarn Business Market will not be responsible for:

  • indirect or consequential loss;

  • loss of profit, revenue or business opportunity;

  • a lack of enquiries, leads or sales;

  • inaccurate information supplied by a listed business;

  • disputes between businesses and marketplace users;

  • third-party websites or services; or

  • events outside our reasonable control.

Our total liability relating to a listing subscription will not normally exceed the subscription fee paid for the relevant 12-month period.

21. Privacy and data protection

Personal information will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Customers must not submit personal information about another person unless they have permission to do so.

Public contact details supplied for a business listing may be displayed on the directory and made accessible to website visitors.

Read our full Privacy Policy here: [insert Privacy Policy link]

22. Changes to the subscription service

We may make reasonable changes to the directory, listing layout, categories, features or submission process.

Changes may be made to improve the service, meet legal requirements, maintain security or respond to changes in technology.

We will not intentionally remove the main benefit of an active paid subscription without providing an appropriate alternative, extension or remedy.

23. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms where reasonably necessary.

Material changes affecting an active subscription will be communicated in advance where appropriate. Updated terms will apply from the date stated in the notice or from the customer’s next renewal.

24. Transfer of business listing subscription

A listing subscription may not be transferred to a different business without our prior written agreement.

If a business changes ownership, name or legal structure, the customer should contact us so that we can confirm whether the existing listing can be updated.

25. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any dispute will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, subject to any rights that cannot legally be restricted.
